If you are in search of something do on a evening in Prague, you should definitely consider be the Krizikova Fountain. Because this is not just your regular fountain – it’s an unforgettable experience. The Krizikova fountain is illuminated with lights that change color and is also known as the “dancing” fountain, as it moves to the music of a live orchestra or ballet, musicals and other shows.
The Krizikova Fontana was built in 1891, and its illumination was designed by Czech inventor Frantisek Krizik. In the 1990s it was completely renovated and is now used for the light shows which are accompanied by both classical and contemporary music in summer.
There are plenty of musicals held here, as well. It’s amazing to watch the fountain change colors and watch a show there at the same time. The atmosphere is something you need to experience first-hand in order to understand the power of this spectacular show of water, light, music and dance. The music varies with each performance and offers something for every taste in music: from pop hots to electronics, to classic masterpieces like Dvorak’s New World Symphony.
The fascinating water and light show accompanied by music and dancing makes for an unforgettable romantic evening, especially in late summer when the evenings are still warm, but the evenings start to get dark.
All water shows are on the hour with four nightly shows in the summertime.
The Krizikova fountain is located at the Vystaviste Exhibition at the subway station U Vystaviste.
